City of Burlington – Western Sewer Study

In 2012, AWCK assisted the City of Burlington with a revision to the City’s Western Sewer Service Area Master Plan. The plan was a revision to a 2002 report that the City and AWCK had worked on previously. The Western Service Area is a total of 3,300 acres of land that is between Greensboro and Burlington in Eastern Guilford County near the Rock Creek area. AWCK’s planning study included estimating Burlington’s potential population and wastewater flows from the service area, 3 Phases to Sanitary Sewer Improvements within the area, and future impacts to the service area. AWCK estimated flow sizes and capacities for the future phases of the project and determined preliminary outfall alignments and profiles while also completing preliminary cost estimates.
